Vigil set for San Jose State club water polo player Ryan Harryman

SAN JOSE -- A candlelight vigil has been scheduled for Friday night on the San Jose State University campus for Ryan Harryman, the 24-year-old senior who died days after being pulled unconscious from a swimming pool during a practice with the college club water polo team.

The candlelight vigil, which was scheduled by school officials in "close collaboration" with Harryman's family, is set for 6 p.m. in front of the Tommie Smith and John Carlos sculpture. Students and others are invited to attend and share personal memories of Ryan.According to the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office, Harryman's cause of death was fresh water drowning.
