Stanford men's basketball: Injury bug strikes Cardinal again

Daily News Staff WriterSTANFORD -- Understandably, Stanford men's basketball coach Johnny Dawkins looked forlorn during Tuesday's media session in Kissick Auditorium. Dawkins announced starting point guard Robert Cartwright, a sophomore, suffered a compound fracture to his right forearm during Monday's practice."Robert went down driving to the basket," said Dawkins, eighth season. "It was a routine play. He landed funny. I have no timetable for how long he will be out. I'll know more in a few days. It's devastating. He had a great start to the season. That's how fragile our sport is."The Dawkins' era has been riddled with injuries to his team.
