Spartans soar over rival Falcons in three-game sweep

The San Jose State University women’s volleyball team swept the United States Air Force Academy Falcons 3-0 on Thursday.

The Spartans won the third set soundly with a score of 25–17. The first two sets were closer with only four points combined in both, ending the the score at 25–23.

Head coach Jolene Shepardson wasn’t present due to a concussion, but associate head coach Aaron Shepardson led the team to victory.

“We’ve got to be resilient when other teams press back,” Aaron Shepardson said. “It’s easy to come out on fire and be the aggressor and puff your chest, but it’s one thing to really mean it and another thing to believe it.
