San Jose State's freshman receiver ready for starting role

SAN JOSE -- Justin Holmes was upset upon learning he had ascended to a starting role as San Jose State prepares for a pivotal November.

Holmes, 19, will replace top receiver, Tyler Winston, who is out for the reason with a knee injury suffered against New Mexico."This is what I envisioned, but not this way," said Holmes, a redshirt freshman from Roseville.Holmes has seven catches for 59 yards this year. Those numbers should increase as San Jose State (4-4, 3-2 Mountain West) makes a push to advance to a bowl game for the first time in coach Ron Caragher's tenure.
