SAN JOSE -- San Jose State, needing a win over a program it's never beaten to become eligible for a bowl game, lost 40-23 to Boise State on a chilly Friday afternoon at Spartan Stadium.
The Spartans led 10-9 at halftime before Boise sophomore running back Jeremy McNichols ran roughshod in the second half. He caught a 5-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter and ran 88 yards for a score that gave the Broncos control a minute into the fourth quarter.Then he dashed 19 yards for a third touchdown and a 33-16 lead with 6:21 left.
