SAN JOSE -- Coach Ron Caragher finally found his quarterback, only to see Kenny Potter forced out of the game over the weekend at Oregon State.
Caragher is hoping for the best this week after Potter had an MRI test Monday to learn the extent of an ankle sprain.The Spartans coach said Potter had won the starting job and would lead the team Saturday night against Fresno State in a Mountain West Conference showdown if he is cleared to play.Otherwise senior Joe Gray will take the reins at Spartan Stadium, with junior Malik Watson elevated to the backup role.
