San Jose State punter Carrizosa joins McCaffrey, Garnett as All-Americans

SAN JOSE -- Punter Michael Carrizosa of San Jose State joined Stanford's Joshua Garnett and Christian McCaffrey on their second All-America team Monday when honored by the Football Writers Association of America.

Carrizosa was named to the second team whereas Outland Trophy winner Garnett and Heisman Trophy runner-up McCaffrey were first-team selections.The Bay Area trio last week were named to Walter Camp All-America teams.Carrizosa, a Ray Guy Award finalist, averaged 47.7 yards a punt this season for the Spartans, who face Georgia State in the inaugural Cure Bowl on Saturday in Orlando, Florida.
