San Jose State loses Mountain West opener

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- San Jose State kept with its rotating quarterback plan and neither seemed to get in a rhythm in a 37-16 loss to Air Force on Saturday night.

Junior Kenny Potter made his first major college start and played the first, third and parts of the fourth quarter. But his interception on the opening fourth-quarter possession set up a crucial Falcons touchdown as Air Force took over the game late with 20 straight points.San Jose State (1-1, 0-1 Mountain West) trailed 17-16 to open the fourth, but the Falcons (2-0, 1-0) punched in a touchdown four plays after Potter's interception to extend their lead.
