SAN JOSE -- Running back Tyler Ervin, tight end Billy Freeman and punter Michael Carrizosa of San Jose State were named to the all-Mountain West Conference first team, the league announced Tuesday.
Senior tackle Wes Schweitzer and linebacker Christian Tago were second-team selections. Honorable mentions went to offensive linemen Jeremiah Kolone and Nate Velichko, defensive backs Maurice McKnight, Jimmy Pruitt and Cleveland Wallace III and quarterback Kenny Potter.Only Ervin, Pruitt and Schweitzer will graduate.San Diego State dominated the player-of-the year awards with running back Donnel Pumphrey (offense), Demontae Kazee (defense), Rashaad Penny (special teams) and Rocky Long (coach) getting honored.
