HONOLULU -- San Jose State, needing to win its final two games to qualify for a bowl invitation, got off to a great start Saturday night.
Scoring touchdowns on their first six possessions, the Spartans throttled Hawaii 43-24. Now they must beat Boise State on Friday at Spartan Stadium to reach the six-win requirement for bowl-game eligibility.The Spartans (5-6 overall and 4-3 in the Mountain West,) amassed 509 yards of offense against the Rainbow Warriors. Quarterback Kenny Potter factored into five touchdowns. Potter threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns on 23-of-32 passing and also rushed nine times for 54 yards and two other scores.
