San Jose State falls in overtime at Nevada

RENO -- San Jose State's chance to reach a bowl took a big hit Saturday after the Spartans dropped their second consecutive heartbreaker in a Mountain West game on a clear, brisk afternoon in Reno.

Nevada scored on quarterback Tyler Stewart's 11-yard touchdown pass in overtime to defeat San Jose State 37-34.The Spartans (4-5, 3-3, Mountain West) missed a 51-yard field goal at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime a week after failing to convert a 2-point try in the final minute in losing to Brigham Young 17-16.San Jose State must win its final two games to gain bowl eligibility.
