San Jose State coordinators have a century of experience

SAN JOSE -- Ron Caragher is taking an old school approach to revitalizing the San Jose State football program.

Caragher, 48, will lean on three veteran lieutenants as he enters the crucial third year of a tenure thus far marked by disappointing finishes.Defensive coordinator Greg Robinson, offensive coordinator Al Borges and special teams coordinator Dan Ferrigno have a combined total of 102 seasons of college and NFL coaching experience. They've seen it all, five times over."There's a confidence that when they say something, they know what's best,'' senior left tackle Wes Schweitzer said. Robinson, 63, was hired a year ago and made an instant impact on SJSU's defensive performance: The Spartans improved from 104th nationally in total defense prior to his arrival to 32nd in his first season.
