San Jose State burn victim has his return to football delayed

SAN JOSE -- Jared Leaf's inspirational comeback to play football for San Jose State has suffered a setback.

The linebacker who survived life-threatening burns in an apartment fire last year has a concussion, coach Ron Caragher said Monday.Leaf, fifth-year senior from Martinez, suffered the head injury during a recent practice. He has not participated in drills in the past week, and watched an open scrimmage Saturday from the sideline while dressed in his uniform."He overcomes one set of physical hurdles and now he has another one," Caragher said. "We've got to be sure that we're clear. It's an important area that were on point.
