SAN JOSE -- Coach Ron Caragher has called for a light practice Saturday in anticipation of San Jose State getting invited to a bowl game this weekend.
The Spartans' third-year coach said Thursday the school won't know anything before the official announcements come Sunday. But the 5-7 team is allowed to practice because it is in contention to earn its fourth bowl bid since 1990, Caragher said."You don't want to get your hopes up too high," Caragher said. "At the same time, it looks pretty solid."San Jose State, which finished 4-4 in the Mountain West Conference, is in the mix because only 75 schools have reached the minimum six-victory requirement to become bowl eligible.
