Coach Ron Caragher can't wait for San Jose State to play Saturday in the hostile Willamette Valley against Oregon State.
The third-year coach wants to prove once and for all that the Spartans (1-1) can handle a Football Bowl Subdivision school on the road. Caragher's San Jose teams are 4-10 in away games after falling apart in the fourth quarter at Air Force in losing 37-16 in the Spartans' Mountain West opener last Saturday.San Jose State's last road victory against a nonconference FBS opponent was a 12-0 shutout at Navy in 2012 during the Mike MacIntyre era. The Spartans are 7-33 in such games since 2000.
