The Houston Texans waived former San Jose State tackle David Quessenberry Tuesday with a non-football injury designation.
Quessenberry, diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in June of 2014, was a sixth-round draft pick in 2013 and never played in a game. He sat out his rookie season with a foot injury.Although Quessenberry could reach an injury settlement once he clears waivers and resume a comeback elsewhere, ESPN reported Houston would like him back in the organization ``in some capacity.''Quessenberry was a 235-pound walk-on out of LaJolla at San Jose State, earning a scholarship in 2010 and eventually becoming team captain.
