SAN JOSE -- Given the nod at quarterback in place of injured starter Kenny Potter, Joe Gray made the most of the opportunity against archrival Fresno State on Saturday night at Spartan Stadium.
With Potter sidelined by a sprained ankle, Gray carved up archrival Fresno State's offense in the first half, completing 14 of 16 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown as the Spartans (2-2, 1-1 Mountain West Conference) took a 21-10 lead at halftime.
