San Jose State's season ended Wednesday with an 80-61 loss to Colorado State in the first round of the Mountain West tournament in Las Vegas.
The sixth-seeded Rams (17-15) pulled away late in the first half with 14 straight points and led 43-24 at the break. Their biggest lead was 61-36 midway through the second half."They outplayed us right from the get-go," Spartans coach Dave Wojcik said. "They came out and they were in gear two and we were in gear five. And they were accelerating past us."The 11th-seeded Spartans (9-22) did pull within 14 points with 4:09 left but could get no closer.
