The Worcester Sharks, San Jose’s top development affiliate, were looking to extend their first round Calder Cup playoff series against the Hershey Bears. Unfortunately for Worcester, it was not their night.
Hershey defeated Worcester by a 10-4 margin and won the first round series three games to one. With the loss, the Sharks run in Worcester has also come to an end after nine season as the Sharks are moving their top development affiliate to San Jose next season.
It was a rough night for starting goaltender Troy Grosenick who allowed three goals on four shots before getting pulled midway through the first period.
