SAN JOSE — Timo Meier’s highly-anticipated rookie season with the Sharks hit a snag last September when he failed to take the ice for the team’s annual intrasquad scrimmage at Solar4America Ice.

The Swiss forward made up for last year’s absence Sunday afternoon, scoring a pair of goals in the Sharks 2017 intrasquad scrimmage that propelled his team, led by captain Joe Pavelski, to a 2-1 win.

“For me, being here healthy, it’s obviously a lot more fun than being out with mono,” Meier said. “I’m just trying to enjoy it and work hard out there.”

After getting plucked with the ninth-overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, the Sharks highest selection since 2007, Meier entered training camp last season with high expectations.
