Joe Pavelski used his stick magic to make Sharks history Tuesday.
The Sharks captain redirected a Brent Burns shot for a goal 15 seconds into San Jose’s Game 4 against the Oilers in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. That was the fastest such score in franchise history, according to the team, beating Dany Heatly’s goal 28 seconds into a 2011 playoff game against the Kings.
Off a face-off Pavelski took, Patrick Marleau tapped the puck over to Burns and the Big Pavelski made it bounce past Oilers netminder Cam Talbot for the 1-0 lead.
