EL SEGUNDO – Joel Ward will likely miss his second straight game on Tuesday when the Sharks play the Kings in their final game before the Christmas break, coach Pete DeBoer revealed on Monday.
Ward missed Sunday’s game in Chicago after going head-and-shoulder-first into the boards courtesy of a hit by the Senators’ Mark Borowiecki late in the third period on Friday. He was scheduled to see a doctor on Monday.
The 35-year-old is fourth in the Sharks in goals (10) and points (23).
Melker Karlsson, who missed Sunday’s game with the flu, was absent for the Sharks’ afternoon practice at the Toyota Sports Center on Monday but is likely to return against Los Angeles.
