SAN JOSE -- The Sharks have signed Tomas Hertl to a two-year contract extension worth $6 million, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.
Hertl was the most prominent of the Sharks' restricted free agents this season, as he had 102 points in 200 NHL regular season games through three years. His games played total ranks ninth among all players selected in the 2012 entry draft, and his point total is fourth behind only Montreal's Alex Galchenyuk (160), Nashville's Filip Forsberg (133) and Edmonton's Nail Yakupov (111). Hertl's deal is through the end of the 2017-18 season, at which time he'll remain a restricted free agent.
