SAN JOSE — Sharks coach Pete DeBoer suggested that his decision to give up on Ryan Carpenter after just 16 games might have been a premature.
Carpenter, however, views the Sharks move to waive him on Dec. 12 in a different light.
After spending his first six weeks with the Vegas Golden Knights (47-21-5) waiting for a second chance, Carpenter is finally proving that he’s an NHL player, scoring nine goals and 13 points over his last 22 games. Carpenter isn’t holding onto any hard feelings toward the Sharks (41-23-9), who he’ll reconnect with at SAP Center Thursday.
