SAN JOSE — Friday’s tragedy in Western Canada is being felt in every corner of the hockey community, including the Sharks dressing room.
As the Sharks (45-26-10) prepared for their regular season finale against the Minnesota Wild (44-26-11) Saturday morning, the team mourned the loss of 14 people who were killed in a fatal accident Friday as the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team’s bus crashed while traveling through the Canadian province of Saskatchewan for a playoff game.
“Almost 100 percent of NHL players played on a youth team at some point that rode a bus to a game,” center Chris Tierney said.
