SAN JOSE — Patrick Marleau was on a line with Joe Thornton and Devin Setoguchi when he suited up for the Sharks on April 9, 2009 for a game against the Phoenix Coyotes.
Over 10 years later, Marleau will once again be linemates with Thornton — this time for a game when he reaches yet another rare milestone in his Hall of Fame-worthy career.
And although he’s already reached 500 goals and 1,000 points, it may be his most impressive one yet.
Twelve days after he dressed for his 1,500th game as a Shark, Marleau will become just the sixth player in NHL history to play in 800 consecutive games when San Jose hosts the Chicago Blackhawks.
