The Sharks enjoyed solid goaltending from Martin Jones this season and throughout San Jose’s long playoff run. James Reimer also played quite well in limited action for the Sharks while Alex Stalock struggled mightily before San Jose sent him to Toronto.
That all adds up to a perfectly average .915 team save percentage in the 2015-16 season. In fact, that is exactly* league average goaltending. That got me thinking: How has San Jose netminding stacked up against the league average over the years? The results may surprise you!
I have the whole table sorted chronologically at the bottom of the post if you’d prefer to jump into the numbers right away.
