The Sharks signed David Schlemko to a four-year deal on the first day of free agency and he immediately moved into the bottom pairing of the Sharks’ defensive depth chart. I’ve already said my piece on the signing, so now let’s get to know San Jose’s newest defender.
Schlemko, born in Edmonton in 1987, played with the Medicine Hat Tigers for three years in the Western Hockey League before the Arizona Coyotes signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2007. Once Schlemko arrived in the Grand Canyon State he split time between the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) and Coyotes.
