SAN JOSE — There was going to come a point in time where the Sharks were dearly going to miss Tomas Hertl.
After three straight wins without their sturdy second line centerman, that time arrived Wednesday night.
Playing their fifth game in nine days, and dressing 11 forwards for the fourth straight game, the Sharks fell behind by a goal near the end of the first period and didn’t have much of an answer the rest of the way in a 5-1 loss to Winnipeg Jets at SAP Center.
“We were lifeless, so, I don’t know what the answer is,” Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said.
