WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Captain America is Captain Clutch, and apparently, Mr. Jet Killer, as well.
Joe Pavelski lifted the Sharks to a 5-4 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday, scoring his sixth game-winning goal of the season by chipping in a pass from Timo Meier on a two-on-one play with just 3.6 seconds left in regulation. Pavelski also scored the overtime winner when the Sharks beat the Jets in Winnipeg back on Feb. 5.
With the win, the Sharks maintained a one-point lead for first place in the Western Conference over the Calgary Flames, who picked up a 9-4 win over the New Jersey Devils.
