ANAHEIM, Calif. — Evander Kane made sure to remind Timo Meier that he played a role in the power forward’s heroics Sunday night.
As a group of reporters gathered around Meier, Kane stuck his head into the huddle and said: “you’re welcome for dinner last night, eh?”
Meier sure played like a guy who eat a solid meal the night before, collecting three points and bulling his way to the game-winning goal in an overtime win. What was the meal that charged Meier’s Herculean effort?
“A nice little steak,” Meier said. “medium rare.”
