Takeaways: Sharks’ depth suffers another injury as winning streak ends at eight games

ST. LOUIS — The winning streak is over, but the point streak survived.

In a battle between the Western Conference’s hottest teams, the St. Louis Blues (43-28-5) flame burned just a little brighter Tuesday as they ended the Sharks winning streak at eight games with a 3-2 overtime win.

By reaching the extra session, the Sharks (44-23-10) managed to stretch their point streak to nine games even though their longest-winning streak in seven years reached its conclusion. In doing so, they pushed their lead over the Anaheim Ducks for second place in the Pacific Division to seven points.
