SAN JOSE — Before we dig into the Sharks blowout win in Game 3, let’s get to the most-pressing matter: Brent Burns’ health.
Burns missed the last 10:07 of the third period Monday as the Sharks took a commanding 3-0 lead in their opening-round Stanley Cup Playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks with an 8-1 win.
Head coach Pete DeBoer suggested that Burns left the game for precautionary reasons.
“Just no sense,” the Sharks coach said. “He wasn’t going to get back on the ice, so we put him in the room.”
Keep in mind, Burns missed the last 16:35 of the third on Feb.
