CALGARY, Alberta — Bill Peters guaranteed it. His team followed through and delivered.
In a conversation with Pete DeBoer Monday morning, the Calgary Flames coach guaranteed that his team would bring its A-game to the rink in Monday’s showdown for first place in the Pacific Division, a response to the squad’s 1-2-2 record over its previous five games. The Flames showed up and proved just how much offensive fire power they have, scoring eight goals in a romp of the Sharks on home ice.
In doing so, the Flames extended their lead over the Sharks in the Pacific Division to three points.
