Takeaways: here’s the Sharks team everyone expected to see

SAN JOSE — Pete DeBoer received everything he asked for during the Sharks two-game homestand this week.

The Sharks (4-3-1) found some finish around the net, scoring nine goals. Martin Jones came up with the big save, stopping 48 pucks on 50 shots. In addition, the group found a way to come out on the right side of the special teams ledger as the power play went 3 for 9 and the penalty kill posted a perfect 6 for 6 showing.

Most importantly, the Sharks got it done where it counts, picking up back-to-back wins over the Buffalo Sabres and the New York Islanders, their first winning streak of the season.
