SAN JOSE — A wounded animal limped into SAP Center Saturday afternoon and crawled out bruised and battered as the Sharks extended their winning streak to a season-high seven games.
The Calgary Flames (35-31-10) losing streak, which started with a pivotal loss to the Sharks last week, reached five games in which they’ve been outscored by a 25-7 margin. To make matters worse, the Flames are trying to reach the finish line without Matthew Tkachuk, Sean Monahan, T.J. Brodie and Kris Versteeg.
The Sharks capitalized on the Flames misfortune, picking up a 5-1 win to stretch their lead over the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks for second place in the Pacific Division to six points.
