Takeaways: Boedker makes a confession about Sharks’ power play

SAN JOSE — The days are getting longer, the clocks are about jump forward and the games are tightening up.

The Stanley Cup playoffs must be right around the corner.

With just 16 games left on the schedule, the Sharks offered a template for what they want playoff hockey to look like in San Jose this spring. The Sharks held the St. Louis Blues to 16 shots on goals, surrendering just two in the third period, while controlling possession by producing 36 shots and 71 attempts en route to a 2-0 win.

By earning two points, the Sharks leapfrogged the Anaheim Ducks in the Pacific Division standings, moving back into second place.
