Stanley Cup Final: Sharks trying to match 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs

SAN JOSE -- To win the first Stanley Cup title in the franchise's 25-year existence, the Sharks must do something no team has accomplished in more than a half century.

The last team to rally from a three-game-to-one deficit in the Cup Final was the Toronto Maple Leafs -- in 1942.If your timeframe is the history of the planet, that's a mere blip.By hockey standards, a mountain range of evidence says the Sharks are doomed.Just don't tell them."We're confident we can go (to Pittsburgh) and win a hockey game," center Logan Couture said. And if they win Game 5, everything changes -- at least from their perspective.
