SAN JOSE –- The Sharks will officially sign forward Dainius Zubrus to a one-year contract later on Tuesday, pending a physical, a source told CSNCalifornia.com.
Zubrus, 37, joined the Sharks on Nov. 16 in the middle of their road trip on a tryout. He returned to the Bay Area on the team charter following Sunday’s game in Columbus.
The contract is a two-way deal, protecting the Sharks if the move doesn’t work out. Financial terms weren’t immediately available.
Zubrus, who had four goals and 10 points in 74 games last season, will likely slot in on one of the Sharks’ bottom two lines.
