Slow start dooms Sharks in 6-3 loss to Boston Bruins

BOSTON — The Sharks knew the Boston Bruins would be an energized group Thursday in their first game after a coaching change.

The Sharks offered little resistance.

The Sharks fell behind just 52 seconds to the first period and gave up a pair of power play goals to David Pastrnak as the Bruins rolled to a 6-3 win at TD Garden.

Goalie Martin Jones was pulled after the first period as the Bruins scored three times on their first seven shots and handed the Sharks their third straight loss.

Joe Thornton, Justin Braun and Timo Meier all scored as the Sharks fell to 0-1-1 on their four-game road trip, which continues Saturday against Philadelphia and concludes Sunday in New Jersey.
