BOSTON — With heavy snow falling across New England on Thursday, the Bruins asked the NHL to postpone their game against the Sharks.
The league said no.
That proved to be an unfortunate turn of the events for the Sharks, who appeared to be a step slow all night in a 6-3 loss before a non-capacity crowd at TD Garden.
Joe Thornton, Justin Braun and Timo Meier scored for San Jose, which has lost three straight and four of six following a season-high six-game winning streak.
“We’re a confident group, we know we can win hockey games,” goalie Martin Jones said.
