Sharks without two key players for Game 6 vs. Blues; A third is questionable

ST. LOUIS — The Sharks will be without center Tomas Hertl and defenseman Erik Karlsson for a do-or-die Game 6 of their Western Conference Final against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday,

Sharks captain Joe Pavelski’s availability will be determined at game-time, coach Pete DeBoer said.

DeBoer said Hertl and Karlsson did not make the trip to St. Louis.

Karlsson has had groin and leg issues since mid-January and was in discomfort again Sunday in Game 5, a 5-0 Blues win, before he left the game for good in the second period. In the same game, Hertl was hurt after a high hit from Ivan Barbashev in the first period, and Pavelski had to leave after it appeared he took an elbow to the head from Alex Pietrangelo early in the third.
