ST. LOUIS — The winning streak is over, but the point streak survived.
In a battle between the Western Conference’s hottest teams, the St. Louis Blues flame burned just a little brighter as they ended the Sharks longest-winning streak in seven years at eight games in overtime Tuesday.
Vladimir Tarasenko extended the Blues winning streak to six games, scoring the decisive goal off a nifty-backhanded feed from Vladimir Sobotka at 2:33 of the extra session.
By reaching overtime, the Sharks extended their point streak to nine games.
Evander Kane opened the scoring at 6:26 of the first, recording his ninth goal and 14th point in 14 games with the Sharks.
