Sharks vs. Avalanche watch guide: Projected lines and defensive pairs

SAN JOSE – The San Jose Sharks kick off the month of March with a four-game homestand, starting Friday night when they host the Colorado Avalanche.

San Jose will be without Evander Kane and Erik Karlsson – both with undisclosed injuries – to start off the homestand. The Sharks will, however, have trade deadline acquisition Gustav Nyquist in the lineup for his first home game as a member of the Sharks.

The Sharks enters Friday’s contest in second place in the Pacific Division standings, seven points behind the Calgary Flames. The Avalanche also enter with a few injuries – one of which being former San Jose Sharks forward Matt Nieto, who is sidelined with a lower-body injury.
