SAN JOSE — Marc-Edouard Vlasic knows how to recharge his battery after a long night of defending against the world’s top scorer: take a nap with the dog.
The Sharks defenseman dismissed concerns about the workload shouldered by he and partner Justin Braun in Game 5 of the team’s first round Stanley Cup playoff series with the Edmonton Oilers, insisting that their 33-plus minutes of ice time Thursday isn’t going to impact the pairing’s ability to shutdown Connor McDavid again in Game 6 at the SAP Center Saturday.
“I took a nap yesterday, so I’ll be fine,” Vlasic said, acknowledging that he caught some rest alongside one of his three dogs.
