SAN JOSE — The Sharks were still recovering Wednesday after their epic Game 7 win over the Vegas Golden Knights the night before put them in the second round of the NHL playoffs.
Now here comes a team that just knocked off the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
The Sharks’ reward for beating the Golden Knights 5-4 in overtime on Tuesday is getting to play the Colorado Avalanche, which right now isn’t playing like a team that just squeaked into the postseason to claim the west’s second wild card spot.
The Avalanche knocked off the Calgary Flames in five games in its first round series and have been waiting, and resting, since last Friday to see who they would play next.
