LOS ANGELES — The Sharks showed during the regular season that they are no easy mark away from SAP Center, as evidenced by their NHL-best 28 road victories.
On Thursday, they showed the same can hold true in the postseason.
Joe Pavelski’s second goal of the game, on a wraparound 17 seconds into the third period, snapped a tie and proved to be a winner as the Sharks opened their Western Conference first-round series with a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.
Game 2 in the best-of-seven series is Saturday night in Los Angeles.
