SAN JOSE — Sharks centers Joe Thornton and Logan Couture skated before the team practiced Wednesday, the first time either player has touched the ice since their respective injuries.
Couture has been sidelined since he took a puck in the mouth March 25 and Thornton missed Tuesday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks after suffering an apparent left knee injury on Sunday.
Thornton skated lightly for 20 to 25 minutes, taking laps around the rink and handling the puck occasionally. He didn’t attempt any hard turns or stops.
Couture, 28, skated for 10 minutes and said he will participate in the morning skate Thursday.
