SAN JOSE — A recent trend continued as the Sharks have signed two more free agents out of the European professional leagues.
The Sharks announced Tuesday that they’ve signed forward Filip Sandberg to a two-year contract out of the Swedish Hockey League. The team also made the signing of Czech defenseman Radim Simek to a one-year contract official Tuesday.
Sandberg and Simek are the latest European free agents to join the Sharks organization. The team signed forward Melker Karlsson out of the Swedish Hockey League in 2014, forward Joonas Donskoi out of the Finnish Liiga in 2015 and forward Marcus Sorensen and defenseman Tim Heed out of the SHL last spring.
