SAN JOSE — The Sharks re-signed their biggest remaining restricted free agent, inking forward Kevin Labanc to a one-year contract.
The value of the contract was not disclosed, but the Sharks tendered a qualifying offer to Labanc last month. Labanc had a base salary of $650,000 last season, according to CapFriendly. Per the NHL’s collective bargaining agreement with the players association, the qualifying offer to Labanc had to be at least 110 percent of his base salary from the previous year.
Labanc, 23, took a major step forward in his development this past year, finishing with 17 goals and 39 assists in 82 games, as he maintained a regular role on the Sharks’ No.
